LOW IMPACT – ALWAYS AND FOREVER To put it simply, low impact is all about reducing our impact on the environment and Earth’s natural resources. It is probably the greatest challenge of our time that aims to lower your ecological footprint through daily actions and habits, from the purchase of goods, production, transport, and retail chains. We do not use unnecessary packaging for avoiding single-use plastics. We keep all transport routes as short as possible. We produce in Switzerland. We use raw materials with low impact. WHY PLASTICS? Unfortunately, tent pegs cannot be made from air. We choose plastic because it has a significantly lower impact than aluminium. And this doesn’t mean the end of our improvements. We see a great future both with recycled plastics and bio-based plastics. Break away from old, dusty routines and discover new ways!

Where do the Piranhas come from? We take great care when selecting our partners. Foresight is intrinsic to us. That’s why sustainability is deeply rooted in the way we do business. We have deliberately chosen to only use a few suppliers and producers with a focus on Switzerland – and if this is not possible – as close as possible from Europe. Our partners must guarantee control and ensure that they work in a manner that feels right for us. We want to build strong, long-term partnerships, and we have worked with most of them for many years. This enables us to ensure that our producers are working according to our requirements in terms of sustainability and human rights. That we can handle challenges together and that there is a common desire to change things for the better.

Nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something!  An important part of a outdoor product’s overall environmental impact is how long the product can be used before it is worn out, how it is looked after and finally how it is disposed of when it can no longer be used for its original purpose. Choosing durable oudoor gear is a good start. But how you look after your gear while you are using them is also of crucial importance to the environment. Read the instructions first to avoid severe damages in the beginning. Looking after SwissPiranha tent pegs is not difficult, and by cleaning your outdoor gear in the correct way you can significantly extend their life. Clearly, we want SwissPiranha tent pegs to be used until it is no longer useable, and we know that that can be an incredibly long time! When, eventually, our tent pegs have…

World’s first tent herring for anglers Othmarsingen, April 1th, 2019: Due to the high demand, the Swiss tent tuning specialist SwissPiranha has developed easy-to-catch herring for anglers. The SwissPiranha RT herring offers significant advantages compared to conventional herrings: it is ultra-light and very durable. Its saw-tooth X-shaped cross section bites into a variety of trays, while the flat head compresses the ground and maximizes holding power. Since SwissPiranha tent herrings are completely sunk into the ground at a 90 ° angle, they are a great challenge even for experienced fishermen. Catching the herring is awkward, if not impossible! Rare attack points like slits on the head provide the fishinglines of skilled anglers an unpredictable catching. Nethertheless, the high-performance plastic PiranhaNT forgives the impact of hammer, ax or stone – there are no sharp edges that could hurt the angler. Now available at your trusted dealer, or freshly caught in our…
